California Board of Nursing

Nurses Career Support

Published

I understand the BRN is busy, my application for endorsement is taking forever because they said they received a high-volume of applicants. I moved back to California on an emergent basis for emergent reasons due to a family situation. I was told by a representative that I should have a license and/ or a temporary between June 1st and June 14th approximately, I moved to California June 1st thinking I'm able to wait a month for my license. I was advised two weeks ago that that was incorrect and the timeline on the website has been inaccurate and I'm going to wait another 4-6 weeks,I'm being told on the phone that they'll basically get to my application when they get to it. I'm not complaining because I know they have a job to do. Well I have 3 kids and a dog to support and my dog is currently in boarding which is costly. I'm debating on moving back to the state where I'm licensed due to financial constraints. So my question is, before I make another big move, what schools does the California Board of Nursing not approve? Im an ADN level RN received my degree from a community college.

thank you for taking the time to read my very, very long question.

California requires credentials to be directly submitted to BRN

So why did i pay to cgfns ?

Why apply to CA if living in TX?

you need to ask CGFNS to send your transcripts to CABRN CA does not require CGFNS. The CES report is insufficient for CA. TX requires CGFNS.

Which is exactly what it says on the BoN website. They will accept transcripts from

cgfns but the CES is not used. Good luck.
