hi.. good day.. i am from the philippines..,. i am really confused about the new law of california.. its about the ssn for the applicants..
i took the nclex last march 8, 2010.. sadly i didnt make it.. i received a letter informing me that i can reapply for examination after 45 days.. so i waited and the 45th day was last april 25,2010.. i am planning to pass my requirements sent by ca-bon but i read their new law that all applicants should have ssn... if i give the requirements like the 75$ and the certification and the retake application without ssn, can i still expect them to give me chance to retake?... or they will not accept it anymore?...
hope u can help me.. thanks so much..
godbless

They will not accept it and your application will be rejected and returned to you (hopefully if the mail doesn't eat it).
SSN is required at the application stage for California, as of April 26th this is being enforced.

IMO, it should be honored since you originally applied before the effective date. Hopefully they will take that into consideration.
thanks for your response...
hushdawg: huhuh hope i can still apply..
silverdragon102: how?
nursecubanitarn2b: hopefully... huhuhuhu... im still hanging now.. dont know what to do next and where to apply.. i really want to work but my uncle told me to focus on my nclex.. i am a bum for 2 years now.. i am turning 23 and i want to help my family..,
i really appreciate that u responded,.. godbless.. :))
Your post has been moved to the International forum where it is more appropriate. If CA will not allow you to resit because you do not have a SSN then you will have to consider starting over with another state and meet their requirements. Even if you pass NCLEX unless you qualify for a H1b (and your last post indicates not as no experience) then you are still looking at several years wait for a immigrant visa and many US nurses are currently struggling to find work especially in CA so expect hard work to find a employer yourself.
thank you so much silverdragon102... i am new here so if there are more response about my post please do inform me... :hpygrp: thanks so much.. :) may god bless you..
we have lots of nurses here in the philippines.. most are volunteer because there is no vacancy in the hospitals.. wheeewww... its really hard to find work that's why many are trying to go out of the country and doesnt work as nurses..
