Calhoun Community College Fall 2017

Published

Just starting a page for people applying for Calhoun's Fall 2017 Nursing Program. Feel free to post ACT scores, and GPA for comparison. I have a 22 on ACT and a 3.75 GPA, hoping this will get me in since I have completed all my basics.

right but I have a bachelor's and I wonder if they are taking the gpa for my whole degree...if so, it doesn't seem fair, since I took 400 level science courses

I dont think the are. Like I said the ACT plus the prerequisites in the core classes

What was your final GPA when graduating with your BA?

some of my older grades were not great...graduated with a 2.8, but the classes I've taken since are a 4.0. So my total gpa is now around a 3.0

what I'm confused about is the general education courses vs the core academic courses...are they the same thing?

the core academics consist of your english and math and biology. General education is the total prerequisites you have to take, these include history, and elective courses

oh ok...I see. I'm not sure if I have all my gen ed courses, because not all of my university courses transfered.

that could be the case. check out your transcript as well.

Let us know what they say, but also, remain hopeful. Some alternates get in due to some not accepting or choosing another program.

I wonder since they have so many apply that once they get down to it if everyone has the same amount of points, they have to go by tiebreakers so to speak. So maybe they'll look at overall gpa or something if more than a few people have the same points initially. Just a thought I had this morning.

Overall GPA could be a deciding factor considering how many people apply.

Did you hear back from them yet?
