Right, but did they require 20/20?

Vision Test for Nursing School
Hi everyone, I am supposed to start nursing school in a month. I am worried because my school requires vision corrected to 20/20 in at least one eye. I failed the eye exam and am having to get new glasses. My concern is that even with new glasses I may not be able to be corrected to 20/20. The standard seems a little high...it seems like 20/30 should be acceptable. Are all nursing schools this stringent?

Calhoun Community College Fall 2017
Thanks. I'm going to be coming in from Arizona. Do you know if there's a lot of stuff that has to be done on campus between orientation and the start of class? After orientation I have to go back and move my entire life back to Alabama!

I'm not sure...someone posted it on here, but I can't remember. I was confused because several people who had lower ACT scores than me were accepted...and I had most of the pre-nursing classes. I had figured my points as a couple of points above the cut off. I want to ask someone at the nursing department about it, but I got the impression that they don't want to discuss it much

I'd like to email them too, but I'm not sure what to ask...they will probably be flooded with emails...

I'm wondering too. Also, could I ask you your age? I'm 45, and wondering if age could be a factor.

oh ok...I see. I'm not sure if I have all my gen ed courses, because not all of my university courses transfered.

what I'm confused about is the general education courses vs the core academic courses...are they the same thing?

Calhoun Community College Fall 2017
some of my older grades were not great...graduated with a 2.8, but the classes I've taken since are a 4.0. So my total gpa is now around a 3.0

right but I have a bachelor's and I wonder if they are taking the gpa for my whole degree...if so, it doesn't seem fair, since I took 400 level science courses

I figured my points are 38.5. So why am I an alternate? I'm not sure though about everything...what are the general ed courses? Is that just the AP, math, and english? Also, I didn't take math 100...I took several higher math courses...which one would count?
