Cal State San Marcos, CSUSM, Accelerated, ABSN 2011

Anyone planning on applying to the Spring 2011, CSUSM, accelerated ABSN program? Just wondering if there is anyone else out there:)

Im in for Spring 2012 in San Marcos and have been trying to find good deals on housing for about 3 weeks now. Anyone have any helpful information? Thanks!

i'm trying to apply for spring 2012. unfortunately, i'm taking my teas late, dec 3rd. cs-sm has all my grades in, so my question is how long did it take for you guys to get a response back of whether or not you were admitted into the program? i hope i have a chance to be admitted for the spring if i do well enough. congrats to you all who have been accepted:)

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application and sent off my transcripts. I will be taking the TEAS in the beginning of January. Following the CSUSM time line it looks as though I will be considered for the Fall 2012 start. If the fall a more competitive cohort to get accepted to because there are less spots? Any advise from past or current applicants would be very much appreciated.

When I submitted my general and nursing applications to CSUSM, I didn't see the transcript requirement; did I miss this part? I still remember the reminder which says that we have to send a packet before Feb 15 but I forgot to copy it down so I don't know what to send T.T. I also have 1 course in progress which is integrated Chemistry. My counselor recommended me to take Anthropology in Spring 2012 semester too but I did not see it on the application. Does anyone have more information on these? Any help is much appreciated! :redbeathe

Phew, regarding the transcript and application packet (due Feb 1, not 15 like I mentioned), I figured it out Yay! I am going to wait for my Fall 2011's grade and submit everything at once :). The only thing I have to worry about is the integrated Chemistry class since every school I apply requires it and I still have it in progress (Spring 2012) xD. I also applied for CSUF and they say that TEAS is valid in 1 year from the date on which the test was taken. I took the test on 1/14/11 and their application is released on 1/15/12...wow looks like I have to retake the test!

I would suppose that fall is more competitive but the have hundreds/ thousands of applications rolling at all times. What the advisors say is that they offer the top 10 percentile and the next 10th and so on (not actual numbers but something like that). but the start quick. when the spring cohorts start they wil probably make offers for the next cohort. It may even be when a cohort is full, which may not be until pretty close to the start. Look at the points averages and just try to be at least at the previous years admission points average. The higher point students might get more offers from other places, too. Just nail the TEAS.

Hi all!

I have read through pretty much the entire thread, and I was wondering if anyone is out of state? I have to finish one more class, and hopefully I'm good! I'm coming from Seattle!

Hi guys,

I applied for CSUSM ABSN program for Fall 2012. I have 4.0 GPA on pre-nursing courses and 3.8 on my last 60 units. I have not done my TEAS yet but hopefully will do it in couple of days. Is there any difference between SM and Temecula Campus regarding to the quality of the courses(teaching and materials)? How is the Campus in Temecula? Does it have sufficient equipments? I ask this question because I read that the campus in Temecula is just the building of the Elementary School? Is it true? Do you recommend to stay and go for Spring Semester in SM or not? I would appreciate If you guys in Temecula Campus give me some idea.

Thanks,

@malzi, no guarantee on getting SM in the spring because of their random assignment. Keep that in mind. Temecula isn't bad, the equipement is fine but I don't know about a comparison with the SM campus because I've never been. The facility is actually pretty nice because it is small. Parking lot adjacent, free no less, 1/4 full at most. I strongly recommend that if you get into TM that you live in TM, if you don't already have a place to stay in SD. I like it and I have to drive an hour to get there.

I finally submitted my application. I'm hoping I still have a shot at the Fall cohort in Temecula. I guess from here on out I wait (6-8 weeks according to the web site). I will have all my courses completed in that time and I will just have to figure out what to do next. Anyone else waiting or in limbo about the Fall?

I submitted my application around 3 weeks ago. I have not heard anything yet. Good luck to you. Please let me know If you get any news.

Has anyone heard anything about the Fall 2012 cohort? I just got my evaluation in the mail a few weeks ago and I'll be finishing up my last 3 pre-nursing prereqs by the middle of May. I'm a little concerned that my official transcripts won't be ready until the end of June/beginning of July. Is anyone else in this same boat? I am hoping the cohort doesn't fill up before then.
