Hi Everyone! I just applied to CSUSM for the summer 2018 semester! Who else has applied?
Hi!! Can you please keep me updated on whether you get accepted because I have a lower score (I am embarrassed to announce, it is low 20s) than you. If you get accepted, you will give me hope. I will try to re-do my TEAS and aim for high grades on my B.S. degree (I am graduating soon).
Good luck and thank you!!!!
Hi @cimarron...late reply here. I didn't do my B.S. here in California, but in Texas, so I don't know how it would compare to some subjects here. According to my eval. sheet, the Critical Thinking and Writing requirements were satisfied by my English Comp I and II.
I took the TEAS last year at CSUSM, but I think I still had to upload my results when I completed my application. Hope this helps.
@whoAmItoSay, don't feel embarrassed or discouraged. We all need a jumping off point. Thankfully, CSUSM doesn't do rejections per say. They will roll your application into the next cohort to see where you stand compared to other applicants for that particular semester, so there is always a chance.
Hello Friends! I also applied for the Summer 2018 term. I have to agree this forum is not as busy as the other CSUSM Nursing forums I have seen in the past!
As of now, I have received my evaluation / points and everything is complete. However, I am someone who is in their last semester at CSUSM studying HD. I am confused as to how acceptance or being declined would work for someone like me. In the instance that I got accepted, I believe it would be conditional as they would have to wait for me to graduate. But in the instance that I got rejected, once I submitted my final semester grades my points may go up and therefore would have a better shot at getting in, but would all the Summer spots be taken? Anyone else in the same boat?
I think it depends on which classes you are finishing right now. If you have completed the science preqreqs, I believe you could be conditionally accepted. If you are still finishing science prereqs, your application is incomplete and rolled over to the next cycle. That's what I went through. Hope this helps.
Aw man! I stopped getting notifications for this thread!! I had a mini heart attack today. This entire time my portal has said "Spring 18- complete application". My advisor said even though I was applying for Summer that this wouldn't change. All of a sudden today, a second line popped up that said "Summer 2018- incomplete application" Called my advisor in a panic but she said my application is all good and complete so not sure what happened. Did this happen to anyone else?! Good news though- she said they are for sure starting to accept students next week!! :)
Ohhhh yeah, that's definitely a smart idea too! and oh no.. maybe you should apply just in case! I know that CSUSM ABSN is through extended learning so the tuition is a lot higher than regular CSU BSN programs... I heard it's around ~45,000K for the whole program. & Lucky you! I live all the way in Fullerton (in Orange County) so I definitely have to move near Temecula if I get accepted.
Sorry for the late response!! Yes I am definitely still going to apply to backups, but I won't be applying to every possible nursing program like I would have before. Haha and yes I've heard 45,000 as well! I just meant that price is worth it to me if its the accelerated program. If it was one of the 3 year traditionals, I would just do an ADN and bridge to save the money and be in it the same amount of time!! Either way I'd just be grateful to get in somewhere :)
