CA Travel nurses, what's your take home?

Hey! I'm on my 2nd assignment in Los Angeles and bringing home about $2,050 weekly...how does this compare with everyone else? I have been a travel nurse for a little over a year and had 1.5 years on a MS/Tele floor before that. I am contracted in MS/Tele currently. I think my pay is pretty competitive, but then I've heard of others making quite a bit more than that in the same specialty. Thanks!

The totals could vary wildly depending on hours worked, dependants, insurance plans and other various deductions.

Better way to find out is "what is your gross and how many hours do you work a week".

That rate seems fair for your specific area in Southern California though

That's a very open ended and easily variable question. Although if you take the housing stipend and work 36 to 40 hours a week you should be making $2000 to $3000 a week in California, roughly. San Diego pays a little less but even there the pay should be around $1700 to $2000 a week take home.

San Fran/Bay Area probably pays the highest with some Fastaff contracts for 48 hours a week being well over $3000 a week take home.

These numbers are of course if you take the housing stipend and find your own place. Cut the take home down by quite a lot if you want them to set up your housing. Also remember that California has a tax for everything, even your plastic walmart bags. It's also one of the most expensive places I've ever had to pay for housing to stay in.

Fastaff...they usually work 48 hour contracts....easy and straightforward. High hourly, low stipend. More tax with them but not a bad gig for the return at the end. Pm if you want my recruiter.
