Nope.. haven't heard anything yet... I'm still totally waiting... such a painful process. T.T

They did mention at the ABSN interview that they send out most notifications in March... so I'm sure it will still be awhile before most of us hear anything from them.

However, I just got back home from the ELMSN-FNP interview... WOW! It was *TOTALLY* different from the ABSN interview... it was really fun, different, and interesting... and it made me really want to go to Samuel Merritt, in general, even more. They mentioned that they're trying to integrate into the ELMSN program some international clinical opportunities for the students as well, which totally caught my attention (since I wanted to eventually do some international volunteer work once I'm a nurse)... it sounds like they have a lot of good things planned in the future at Samuel Merritt for their current and future nursing students.

Every applicant who I've met so far throughout this application/testing/interview process seems to have so much to offer to the programs! It's really motivating meeting and talking to everyone, given their diverse professional and educational backgrounds... I'm sure that both ABSN programs will have a very intelligent and interesting mix of people. Good luck!!! Hopefully we'll be working together as classmates in the future. =)

My letter came in yesterday, but I already sent in my Letter of Intent to attend the ELMSN-FNP program on Monday... so y'all should be getting it soon (if you haven't already... my post office is slow, so I'm thinking that most people got theirs already)! Good luck! =)

(and no tricks on their side of the house.. both came as big envelopes)

Thanks for giving me the heads up, I got my admission letter today for the ABSN (:

Sweet!!! Congratulations!! xD

Which program are you doing? Oakland or San Fran? If you're in Oakland, maybe I'll see you around in the Fall. =)

Hi, I'm new to this site, just signed up today. I just found out 3 days ago that I'm accepted to the SF site! Initially I was #4 on the wait list and had pretty much given up hope. It really hasn't hit me yet. I'm still working on pharm and patho and should be done in a few weeks. I'm a little stressed out over patho because I'm going in to the final with a C. I'd absolutely die if I didn't pass these pre-reqs and had to give up my spot. Anybody else taking patho from U of IOWA?

Congratulations! Excellent! One of my proctors got into the ABSN too and will start in May. Where is the SF campus? Back in January, the admissions people still didn't know where it was.

May I ask what your background and stats are? I'm just curious about what it takes to get in.

In response to Raymond CA, I have a BA from SJSU in Health Science and a MA in Healthcare Administration from Golden Gate University. I've worked in 2 hospitals over the past 5 years as an executive admin and as a nursing assistant for the past year. I had really good letters of recommendation from my charge nurses. I'm pretty much a B student so I think it was everything else that got me in.

Hey Aferr22, I am taking patho from the U of Iowa and have pretty much finished up all the work aside from the exams. Do you have any advice going into the midterm? I plan to take it next week and take the final in late May. I've been doing great with the written work but I have no patience for those audio lectures so am depending on notes and the book for most of the exam stuff.

Also, I'm taking Pharma from Indiana U...hasn't been too bad overall, a lot easier than the Patho.

Oh and I've been accepted into Samuel Merritt Oakland campus for the ABSN program. Can't believe I still have tons of Patho left to do! I hope to find out what the program schedule is going to be like (the hours/days of the week) since there is little to no information out there!

Hey KMBrooks,

It's good to hear I'm not alone! I agree, pharm is alot easier than patho. I completely underestimated the first patho midterm and did not study like I should have. stupid..I know.. I did bad on the test. All of my homework has been 9s and 10s so I'm still ok in the class. I won't make the same mistake on the final. You should pay EXTRA attention to the cardiovascular system and know the mechanisms, signs, and symptoms for each of the conditions that we write about in our homework. The practice quiz on the website doesn't reflect the difficulty of the questions on the actual exam. It could just be that I didn't study enough, but those exam questions were tough. For the final, I typed up notes on every system hopeing that I'll remember more that way. All I have left are the two finals. I'm just glad to be done with those classes!
