CA CNA Skills Exam Testing Site

Published

Has anyone taken their CNA Exam through North Orange County ROP in Anaheim, CA? It is a Regional Testing Center for the NNAAP. From what I've read on the posts, most seem to test through the Red Cross. I wondered if ROP was strict since LVN instructors are the ones grading skills?

I am very nervous since I am challenging the CNA exam; I haven't practiced skills in over 5 years! I am scheduled for 7/21 and would like to know ANYTHING that would help! I try to look up videos on youtube, but everybody is doing something different and most are not from CA anyway. I would like to (re)learn the necessary skills in passing the exam from a reliable, reputable source.

I appreciate any feed back, especially in regards to the testing site! :-)

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

My dad is doing better, thank you. He has brain tumors and they had to adjust his meds because of his seizures. It got hairy for a few days. But we are now in the clear.

I sent you my email address. I have a 2 1/2 yr old, so I understand about budgeting in time. So today I heard from a friend that the catheter care is not part of the exam, however, it's in my booklet, go figure, so I am at a loss there. Keep me posted it and if you have any questions, let me know!!! I will be in contact.

Hello out there. To coldcasejustice & oc_angel...

I passed the written!!! :) But not the skills. The written was only 60 multiple-choice questions. The skills I had were Handwashing (only 1 actual time) during rest of skills I just had to verbalize when I would wash my hands. Other skills was Blood Pressure, Transfer patient w/ Gait Belt & Dressing Patient w/ Contracted Arm. Be sure the instructor can hear you, it tends to be loud at times.

-Good luck!!!!

Hi OrangePink89 -

I am sorry to hear about the skills portion :scrying:. What happened?! Which skill portion did you not pass? Are you scheduled to retake the test.

was the testing hard at san bernardino, i wanted to go there.....? but now i am going to orange county.

I failed the portion of when I had to use the gait belt. The RN said it wasn't "tight enough." I have not rescheduled yet bc idk if I have to wait a certain amount of time. But I have called the American Red Cross ppl & I'm waiting for them to call me bck.

The testing seemed pretty chilled. If you were re-taking the skills portion you went 1st, while the others took the written portion. We only hand to actually wash our hands once & during the skills we would verbalize the times when handwashing would be done. At the end of each skill we were given the opportunity to verbally correct any mistakes we think we made.

OrangePink89,

I am so sorry to hear about your skills exam :( I have never seen a gait belt, let alone apply one, so I'll be nervous if I draw that skill!
