CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

World Registration

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

Hello All,

I graduated from the Philippines. I applied for NCLEX CA. The licensing analyst needs the copy of my PRC cases. All I know is that most of my practical cases are not concurrent with the theoretical. Since most are acquired few months before graduation. For sure, BRN will notice this if the school would submit it.

I have also been reading posts that the BRN still doesn't honor the explanation of the school.

Is there any other way? I badly need help.

Me too. other of my cases are not concurrent with my ob/ med surg cause I stop for a year.

Well, you haven't send it yet. It's too early for you to conclude they'll notice it. just have your school comply with those requirement the BON were asking.

Well, true, I haven't sent it yet. But you guys know that they check every details. I'd like to know if there is any other alternative so it wont end up having the BRN send me a letter regarding non-concurrence.

Thanks.

Hi @Rntopaz & @retetestis!

I graduated from UC, 2010. I already applied for the NCLEX-CA in July 2010. So, my requirements weren't that difficult yet. I'm inquiring for my husband who recently applied last February 2011, but he graduated 2007. He's already in the U.S., so we're still locating his clinical cases and clearances & asking if the CON & Registrar can produce the academic calendar from the years he was enrolled there.

Have you guys had any difficulties with UC producing any needed documents? Thanks-

For now, my analyst is requiring me documents that I keep and regarding the clinical rotation, the school don't keep such records. Good luck!

hi, @retetestis!

i posted a comment to you on another thread, saying: .

..."are you not having the concurrency issue? i'm trying to get as much input about our schoolmates' application process, so the con & registrar will have an idea of what ca-brn are requiring now.

if you don't mind letting me know your additional requirements and what you have done so far, please e-mail at [email protected]

anyone may contact me through the e-mail address for any input and additional information. thanks so much y'all-"

hi, @rntopaz!

i'm unable to pm you. please e-mail at the address above if you have the time & patience. thanks so much-

My analyst required me my clinical rotation on the required cases (major, minor, cord care, etc.). For what I understand, they need my clinical rotation schedule so I mailed them my clinical rotation schedule with the time, place, and signatures of CIs. Then my analyst e-mailed me and told me that what she needs is my cases needed to take our NLE or local board. It took me long enough to mail the copy to the BRN because I left my copies in the Phil. I just mailed it to them a couples days ago. I don't know yet if I'm eligible but some of our schoolmates were not eligible according to their analysts.

I think your school will provide the clinical rotation schedule. And you should submit the PRC form of your cases with Signatures of CI, dean etc. and if you left you copy you can ask someone to mail it directly to BRN or give it to your school and they will mail it together with other requirements. In short there just asking for your cases schedule and completion.

actually my analyst asks me even for the excess clinical cases, but the thing is the school is having difficulties on providing them. mailed the letter-PRC cases- from the school and still havent heard from the analyst.

There's more and more international graduates from the Phil who are not getting eligiblity. I'm curious, what semester and year the MS and OB theory and clinical rotation should be? Good luck to us

I think OB in NCM101 and MS in NCM102.

True. Many people are applying here at Cali and got denied. One of my friend denied and then tried at Vermont. He got his eligibility in a month and not too much requirement needed.
