CA BON rejecting the PH courses and schools

I don't know if most of you are aware of the terrible problem we're having as PH grads in trying to get our NCLEX exam or the ATT because there's been no PH college or school that meets the CA BON minimum educational requirements.

About 99% of all PH grads from 2010 and maybe more for past years are unable (rejected or denied, all the same thing) to get our courses approved or accepted by the CA BON, so we are asked to become LVN's or re-take the deficient courses or apply to another state.

There are mostly issues with our cases and clinicals and theory not able to complete with the SAME semester and you must take all your courses and cases BEFORE you graduate.

We are all stuck with unable to do the above due to PH standards.

Are any of you guys in a new type of curriculum that does the classes, courses, cases and clinicals and or theory all together in the SAME semester, not months later, not 1-2 years later, but MUST be done in the same semester or it doesn't count in CA and some states are also going to enforce this rule.

Guys you must also have taken Med-Surg and Psych also, some grads didn't have these courses and now can't get accepted by the CA BON.

We are asked to take any deficient classes or courses in CA, but it's next to impossible to get enrolled in any CA classes, like almost 1,000's of other foreign students from all over the world going after less than a handful of open spots.

People talk of the "new 4 year" nursing program, but it's not meeting CA BON requirements either!

Now CA BON requires a SSN to even apply and there are NO more hospital sponsors, zero! Even those of you who are US citizena and have dual citizenship, the PH courses are still unacceptable as of April 2010 and more so strictly enforced since Nov. 2011.

Do you guys know of any PH schools like that today offering the "proper" courses, it's for my cousin in high school now. Thanks!

hi.id like to ask what school are you from? :) thank u

and were you cases concurrent with your lecture?

I sent my application about 2 wks ago. My school forwarded my docs the same week. Called the board last monday and told me i will just have to wait for the permanent license in the mail bec my file is already in the dept for the releasing of the license. I requested for a temporary license though but the lady told me that since my transcripts and all are already there with them, they might be sending the permanent license already and not the temporary. They told me to check my name on the board's website if it will already appear in there.

Hi californiaboy! Like you I'm a foreign grad too and i was surprised that we go to the same school. I just wanna know if our school asked for your cases and sent them together with the transcripts? How long did you wait to call the bon? What number did you call?

Hello,

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines with a year and 6 months experience in the field. I graduated in Mindanao State University Iligan Inst. Of Technology. I am a greencard holder here in Los Angeles. It's hard to get started with the profession because they wanted to have your papers evaluated and so I did got myself evaluated by the cgfns. The result is now available and they said they sent it to the CA BON. Can I ask what's the next step with this?

If you reply, I wanted to thank you for the help. I badly need it. It seems like filipino nurses here in los angeles doesn't want to help their countrymen to get started. Crab mentality ********. But thanks in advance. Hope you'll reply.

How's your application?

Hello everyone this is Tiffany again.

I live here now in California so any legal docs such as SSN, greencards, residence card or citizenship I have and can comply. I also graduated in a state university in the Philippines and was part of the new curriculum. Yep we had our cases complete while we were in 4th year and before the class ended because those are requirements to graduate. I undergo evaluation from CGFNS and they got all the needed documents including the clinical duties. My papers right now are with the CA BON and I'm currently waiting for their reply. It took time for the processing tho. I submitted last January 23 and the papers they are still evaluating are from Jan 1-15. So hopefully this month I'll hear from them.

Waiting for the reply from the board

@TeefeeBloom Any update on your application?? I just applied too last August and I'm patiently waiting for an update!!
