CA BON asking for Clinical rotation booklet/log

Published

Ok.. I am a foreign grad from the philippines and passed NCLEX RN CA last 2008.. Unfortunately, my file was deemed abandoned after the expiration of my NCLEX.. Now that im already here in US, i tried to reapply my NCLEX RN to CA BON, i got a letter from them saying i need to provide a copy of my CLINICAL ROTATION BOOKLET/ LOG... I dont know what is the content of that booklet/log that they were asking from me.., and besides, it has been 5 years that i graduated and all my things i had during mu school years have been discarded already... What should i do now? Anyone of you who had this kind of situation too? Were you able to provide them your clinical rotation booklet or log?

Plenty of threads discussing this in the Nurse registration forum so will move this thread there. Suggest a look and read

I'm in the process of applying to CA BRN myself and I am sorry but I don't have an answer for you. I am going to bump up this thread though because I have a question of my own.

Is there any recent CA BRN applicant from the Philippines who was not requested to provide this clinical rotation log/booklet? I ask because I have yet to submit my full application, and I'm wondering if it would be wiser just to append this log right from the start, even if it wasn't explicitly asked of me to do so. If this is the case, I will need to start the tedious task of compiling these documents. Otherwise, I will just wait for their follow-up letter to see if they want it.

I have yet to encounter anyone on here who has not have had to send this clinical record, but somehow I like to rationalize that if CA BRN were to require this of all foreign grads, they would say so explicitly on their application, right from the start. But they don't. So it may be required for some foreign grads, but not for others?

Before submitting my application to CA BRN, i sent an email to them asking the additional requirement for foreign nurses, and they said that i should only provide the basic requirements and if additional information is required, i will be notified in writing... So i just sent them the basic requirements.. And after a few weeks, i got a letter from them notifying me of the additional requirements..

I have read some threads that are the same as my case, and they send their previous nclex pass letter together with their reapplication of nclex, and they were able to get their license right away without asking them those additional requirements.. Maybe i will try to do the same thing... I will just send my previous nclex letter together with the copy of my ssn card..

So we are not required to get the ATT first before we take the NCLEX? This has been an issue that's confused me because I've read some people seem to have already taken there NCLEX before even applying to a nursing board.

Also, may I ask what the additional requirements that they asked of you were, aside from the clinical rotation booklet? Thank you! :)

ATT is only given once state requirements have been met and the states says OK to sit NCLEX
