C in pre-req class is that entirely bad????!!

I got a C in history and POLS is that bad?!?!? overall I have three C's so far. Any opinions..

I wouldn't work about Poly Sci. On the other hand it depends on the GPA requirements of your school. I wouldn't retake it personally. I just wouldn't make any more C's. I would also suggest to make all A's in your science courses from here on out. I hope this helps.

"3 C's so far?"

3 C's out of how many total grades? Overall current GPA? How many pre-reqs do you have left? Also, how are your science grades? Before re-taking any classes, I would check with your schools/programs retake policy. Some schools place a cap on how many retakes or grade replacements you are allowed. Depending on the school(s) you are applying to, those 3 C's will have varying effects. Some schools 3 C's would make it impossible to get it, other schools not. Mainly, just try to improve from here... no more C's! I would research the programs you are wanting to apply to (in detail) to truly decide if your grades are going to be "good enough."

At my college you need C+ in all science and nursing courses to pass. Not sure about your school or other schools on their rules. Good luck.

A grade of 'C' or higher is passing, yes. However, keep in mind that nursing programs are competitive. The higher your gpa, the higher chance you have of getting accepted. C's are unacceptable! Lol

I know, I was just saying what passing is. My GPA is 2.97 (B-) and I was accepted to the RN program. 350 people apply yearly and I was selected :) I never had a anything lower than a B-.

So far I have taken six classes, and out of the six I made a C in one which is my first A&P class. The nursing program requires their nursing students to make at least a C in pre-requisites in order to get into the nursing program. I am currently finishing one pre requisite class with four more to go, and those include all but one of my biology classes.

That's the same with my college, and thank you!

That's what I was saying, and I'm going to try my best to not make anymore C's. The GPA requirement is a 2.5. Thank you for your advice!

At my school thatd be considered a C plus average. Op it depends on where your applying. Lottery, point based, etc. some look at science gpa predominately, others commulative, others just prereq gpa. Just make sure you don't get any more Cs. Dont give up. Im freaking out cause i might end up with a C in physiology. My school is point based and highly competitive. I'm trying to rack up as many points as possible. Ugh i just wanna be a RN and i refuse to give up!

NO, it's not bad. Last semester I got a C in College Algebra & a B in PE, this semester a B in history .. I still have a pretty good GPA & another whole semester before I apply to nursing school (including summer). A C doesn't make it impossible, but you should try to do a little better (that's what I keep telling myself). Good Luck!

It depends on the school and competitiveness. I am in Texas and I have a 3.4 and busting my rear end to bring it up, because 3.4 is below par for acceptance into nursing school here. I made a few C's about 15 years ago that are coming back to haunt me!
