I get my used books fro Amazon. I've paid pennies on the dollar for 'used' books that when I get them I swear they have never been openend. For books with DVD/CDs and online access codes...I check to see if the publisher has those available for sale..then I either by the book used and get the access code from the publisher or I buy the book new from Amazon.
I also start nursing school on the 25th. I have my booklist and no syllabus yet. I like buying my books off Amazon because I save so much money. I just did a search on my books for the first semester on Amazon and it totals to about $200 max. That is good for a 12 credit semester. Also, look into renting your books and older editions. Many times you will be able to find the older editions online and especially between the 12th and 13th edition, the difference is so minor that you will get more out of your money on the 12th edition. I am waiting a little longer to buy my book because I hope to receive my syllabus before the semester starts that way I only get the books that I absolutely need. When it comes to the access codes, I will check the website and see if they sell them because there are a lot of students who buy used books.

I start nursing school on the 25th. I was wondering do you buy our books used? If so, what do you do about the online codes? My experience has been that most classes do not usually use them, and a used book is sufficient, but what about the ones that do? I don't have my syllabus before classes so I don't know if thy will be needed or not! I just have the book list, and oh, very very expensive at the book store!
I think I will just buy them used an purchase a access code if I need it, by the website.
