Butte College RN Program

Published

I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

I was also able to reapp on Dec 1st. I was clicking on it over and over all morning until it opened?  You should call and ask why you are having an issue, for sure

It was picking up my work Microsoft account and not letting me go to a login. So I finally got myself all the way out of the other account and went to a different browser and it let me. All done!

Now we wait for a long time ?

And probably for nothing for me, except to be in line?

Same for me this will be rejection number 4

I just applied for 2nd time. I can’t believe it takes so long ?

Me too,

I am going to try an ABSN application this cycle. I hope I get in and stop the madness of waiting.?

Where do you plan on going for that if you don’t mind me asking? I just finished a crazy semester, I was going to take calculus but I’m burnt out. Just taking chem1 and Spanish this semester.

It's called Samuel Merritt. They have campuses for the ABSN in Sacramento and Oakland and San Mateo. You have to have a non nursing bachelors degree to be able to apply to the ABSN program. But you get your RN and BSN in 3 semesters.

They have a regular BSN program at the Oakland campus too. You don't have to have a bachelor's yet to be able to apply, just meet the requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing | Samuel Merritt University

I was totally going to apply to Samuel Merrit because it’s so much faster. It is just crazy expensive to go there though so that’s why I continue to wait for Butte

Yes, it is expensive, but at their information session I just attended they said 98% of their students get financial aid. I am also willing to take out a school loan to cover the rest to get it done and start working

Oh totally this isn’t my first degree (I’m changing careers) so more student loans want an option for me. I would totally take loans though to go through if I didn’t already have enough I’m paying off ? I hope you get in and breeze through I e heard really positive things otherwise about the program

Me too. I'm trying to do the Accelerated BSN program for those who already have a non nursing bachelors degree. I have debt already too. But I'm going to take on more if they let me in this program?
