Okay, so there are tons of ppl that TALK about burning their uniforms.. well I DID!! it felt so good to see them be doused (SP?) in lighter fluid...heck, i didnt want to stop soaking them!! and then go up in slow flames!!!
BUT, it must be a nursing thing...as soon as they were lighting up...i felt a little bit of a pull that maybe,,,just maybe there would be a reason i would need them b4 graduation... which btw is in 4 days...lol..dont ask me why i would ever need them, but i think they whole military and nursing thing "be prepared" in me kinda snuck out a bit.
had to share!! lol

we did the uniform burning and it was awesome. Also burned a copy or two of our leadership book. We had an instructor that was horrid. It was very cathartic.

. :yeah:I never thought I would think a book burning was funny but was. OMG the pic came out great. How long did it take for that book to completely burn to nothing?
my husband literally planned a bon-fire for the occassion. we also threw in my NANDA book and hard copies of all my damned care plans (i have them on my hard drive). it was the best feeling to watch those dang MRSA, c-diff, see through in the crotch green scrubs go up in flames!!!
and the school wanted us to donate them..YEA RIGHT!

My school started a donation box for the incoming students and I can't wait to throw mine in there. I can just pretend I'm burning them. I think I would rather donate to the next broke mini version of me that comes through those doors. I could barely afford the 1st semester and some friends of mine who have few dollars now and remember what it was like to be broke and not have uniform money actually bought most of my scrubs, a stethoscope and bp cuff. I can't wait for the day I can pay it forward.
