Okay, so there are tons of ppl that TALK about burning their uniforms.. well I DID!! it felt so good to see them be doused (SP?) in lighter fluid...heck, i didnt want to stop soaking them!! and then go up in slow flames!!!
BUT, it must be a nursing thing...as soon as they were lighting up...i felt a little bit of a pull that maybe,,,just maybe there would be a reason i would need them b4 graduation... which btw is in 4 days...lol..dont ask me why i would ever need them, but i think they whole military and nursing thing "be prepared" in me kinda snuck out a bit.
had to share!! lol

Burned them? We wore navy blue scrubs in nursing school and wore mine to work for a while until I could afford more! Never thought of burning them.

I love it! That had to have felt real good! LOL I actually thought about that myself. But a girl in our class collected them to donate to the incoming 1st yr students...to "pass on the misery". I actually kept a couple pairs of pants though cause I can still wear them. I graduate in 3 days! Can't wait!

I gave mine away to a friend who is just starting the program I just finished. I don't think I'd burn them, although I have to admit it would be very satisfying!

I'm so glad to know that there are other people out there who burned their scrubs!!! Me and about 10 of my classmates all gathered together on the night of our last day of class and had a burning party. Some students said that they wouldn't participate because they felt we were being "anti-nursing", and I really did not see it as that at all. I saw it as a closing of a long hard chapter in my life and a clean refreshing start to a new one! Before we each put in an item to the fire, we shared a story or memory of nursing school and it was really a lot of fun. I didn't burn my scrubs pants, just the ugly white tops that we were forced to wear! Some of the students even burned their patches that we had to wear on our L shoulders, but I chose to save mine for memory purposes. I didn't have any business saving white tops because I have NO desire to ever wear that color in a hospital again! I thought about donating mine to 1st semester students, but who really wants a used white top that has stains on it?? Congratulations to all of the new grads! I graduate in 5 days and I cannot wait!

My plan is to take my whites and dye 'em some color I can tolerate and wear 'em to work. Gives me a reason to pop for some decent white scrubs instead of just the cheapest thing I can find.

for those who want to get rid of their uniforms, please consider donating them to incoming students. I wish someone would have done that for our class. Our class this year donated them and hopefully they will save someone some money. I know I spent $50 or more on the uniforms, pants, patches etc. I think burning is probably satisfying, but also wasteful!!!! I would feel too guilty!!!

I was always considering burning mine, and now that I've found out that they're changing the school uniform I'll DEFINITELY be torching that sucker up!!!!!
FYI: we don't have scrubs, white polo, white pants, blue smock. ICK!
