I have been a long time lurker and this is my first time posting so please bear with me.
I am currently in the process of finishing up my prereqs so I can apply to BCC nursing program. I plan on applying this April for Spring 2009 program. After this semester, I will have 3 classes left. I plan on taking two in the summer (Nutrition and Intro. to Computers) and A&P II in the fall. So I would be done with all my prereqs by the time the program starts next spring.
Currently I am on pace for a 4.0 BCC GPA and am waiting for my NET results. Based on the information I gave you, I am looking for information regarding my chances and any advice you can give would be much appreciated.
To all the members, I thank you for all the knowledge that you share with us first time posters. I have learned so much just reading all the posts.
Thanks,
Sangeeta
looks like we are in the same situation right now! I want to get done as soon as possible. Jefferson in Philly has a 2 yr ASN program with no pre-req's. Although I can't tell if it is evening or just days, I guess I'll have to look into that, too. Heard it is really expensive, though. I plan on applying to BCC 4/1/09 for the Spring 2010 program. I will be in the process of taking my last 2 prereqs, I wonder if they consider that.
Jeff's ASN program is days only. Cost is about $17,000/year in tuition, plus books, etc.
I have not applied anywhere else. Everywere else is so expensive. I am trying to get thru school with no school debt. But at the same time I do not want to wait forever to get in. I thought it was to late at this point to get in anywhere else? Plus you have to take other classes. I am taking Micro this semester and already signed up for Bio 115 in the summer. I already took the lecture just not the lab. I am praying I get in. I will really suck since there are no more classes to take. Just waiting. I was told that April 15th was the very latest but the 1st letters go out for the people that are accepted, then letters for waiting list, then finally letters for those who did not make it. I am going crazy waiting. 5 1/2 months is a LONG time to wait. Heather
Is this your first degree? I see we are about the same age. This is my first. I started right out of high school but then stopped. Had 3 kids. And started back to BCC Jan of 2008. I was advised to apply April 1st as well. I hope it does not come to that. Make sure you let me know if you receive any thing and I will do the same. Do you work now?
yes it is my first degree and like you I went out of high school, stopped, had 2 kids and returned last summer. I was laid off in November, so I am not working right now. I really hope I can start this Fall-this is a career change for me and I am anxious to get going. Yes, please keep in touch!
Hey everyone,
This is my first time posting anywhere on here, I also applied for BCC Spring 09 semester. I am kind of stuck in this situation because I have all of my pre-reqs completed so I am sitting out a semester waiting to be accepted. April 15 seems so far away! I am hoping I get accepted this semester because waiting another semester would feel like a big waste of time. I hope I see you all there in the spring.
