Has anyone heard or does anyone know when we should hear about acceptance into Spring 2010? I have all pre-req's done, no reason I shouldn't get in, but I want to get that letter! I have a feeling it won't come until sometime in Sept, though.....
yes I felt completely overwhelmed looking through that packet!!! I am currently unemployed with no health insurance so I am hoping the coverage through the college isn't too much. I am going to register 11/2-do you think that is too early to start buying books, etc??? I want to get everything and start looking it over ASAP!
No, it's not too early!!!!! I have heard it's good to buy your books and syllabus as soon as you can. At least you can start reading ahead of time. I'll probably buy things a few at a time so there isn't such a big dent in my wallet. I know I will be signing up for the evening clinicals because I have to work during the day. I'm just hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew this time. I guess only time will tell.
Is anyone else planning on taking the med administration course during the intersession?
Hi, I'm new to allnurses.com and just found this (blog?) about Burlington County Community College. I'm hoping that someone out there can lend me some helpful hints and encouragement. I just completed A&P II at BCC but did not pass. The instructor offered to give me an X so that it does not reflect my GPA, so i took her offer. I am not really worried about my GPA right now I am just wondering if I am in the right school for me. Personally, I am going through a lot (divorce, selling of house, etc) and was carrying a full time class schedule. I got an A in philosophy and a B+ in A&P Lab. But those tests in A&P II drove me crazy. I did everything I could think of to succeed: joined a study group, studied the coloring book, studied ADAM. I am feeling frustrated because so many of the students were cheating and I know they passed. I am sorry to say that I went to the teacher to tell her about a student sitting right next to me cheating off of index cards and the teacher did nothing!! I know this person passed and I am feeling so discouraged. I am a returning adult student and so do not have all the time in the world to get this degree (which I truly want). Does anyone have any words of advise? I already registered to take the same class this summer (ten weeks). I know I can do it but am feeling down. Thanks.
Hi Gracie,
I'm sorry you're feeling down right now. I am a returning adult student like yourself and it is discouraging to see some of the behavior that goes on in classes these days.
Are you taking A&P with the same instructor? If not, the new instructor may explain things in a way that you will understand.
Don't let what goes on around you discourage you. I know, easier said than done. The cheating will eventually catch up with the cheater. As you have said, you are personally going through a lot right now. In spite of this, you managed to do really well in your other classes. Congratulations! You CAN do it. You will do it....especially if you want it bad enough. Don't let the actions of others stop you from getting something you want.
Good luck! :)
I took A&P II in Fall 2008 and I had the best teacher...my favorite teacher to date as a matter of fact. Try to see if you can get into Dr. Davis's class....he is very intelligent and is all about students knowing the info rather than memorizing it. He provides study guides as well that will help you know important information. When I had him he usually did the evening classes because he is a doctor at Penn so look into the evening classes. Don't let yourself get down, it's just a bump in the road. Good luck!
Hi everyone from Burlington County College. I am glad to have found folks from teh same school I go to. I am still taking my pre-reqs but thought that you all might be able to offer some advise specifically relating to this college. Has anyone been frustrated over the lack of good Lab equipment or the often not so good teachers? In my A&P II class more then 50% of the stethoscopes were broken and we saw the teacher just put them back into the cabinet so we never got to practice using them. So many students complained about the Lab teacher that the head of the department sat in and the teacher was well prpared for her being there. The head told us that she was the best adjunct she had ever monitored. I don't know what to think. Any feedback?
Hey guys. I just got my letter for Fall 2010 (for BCC). Since you are now 1 semester "complete", how was it??
I am very nervous, and heard that 30% of the initial class has already dropped out? That is very discouraging.
Any advice for the newcomers????? Anything would be greatly appreciated :)
