Anyone here applying for the Bunker Hill Nursing program for January 2016? Have you taken your TEAS yet? If not, where are you planning to take them? The department chair told me that the next time they are offering them at Bunker Hill is in October and the application cycle for January 2016 ends in September. Is that too late to take the TEAS?
I'm debating on taking it at another school so I get it out of the way and BHCC has my scores on time. How does Bunker Hill get the scores if we take it at another school? Anyone know the process?
Congrats!! I didn't show anything... Sigh... I might have not got in again... This my 3rd time applying.
Do not be let down by this. You should however plan on your next step in becoming a registered nurse at a different school. At BHCC info session - she said you are allowed to apply a total of three times and after that you are no longer eligible. Also the average Teas Score that are usually accepted into the program is high 80s. Eventhouh your score makes the cut to apply to BHCC - in most schools it does not. At Northshore you need a minimum of 76 to even be considered. So I would study study study study and take the test again. I hope you don't give up.
When you go into program evlulation try each of the nursing option to see which one shows the anticipation date. I thought I was waiting for the day program that I wanted to get in. But I actually got into the hybrid. I finish taking all my co and pre. I have all A and 2 b+ on all those classes just classes I took a while back in 07 I had 5 F but I came back to Bhcc and all my grades are all A ( gpa before was 1.7 now it's 3.2) My teas was low because of my eng Bhcc only need math science and the other one I forgot. But I care less of Eng that's why it so low but my science and math was 76. Hope that helps. If you go to Bhcc website actually and click on admission than apply it would direct to hob... Website click on self service link in the reading and that would also let you view your letter and status of your application.
You will see a change under MY PROFILE which is a hyperlink under Academic Profile.
The Hybrid or Alternative program just smashes everything into two days. You have some online material to go over but you have class on Tuesdays (next semester anyway) and I am pretty sure that the clinical is a Saturday or Sunday. I think the alternative program takes more self discipline, but if you make sure that you are spending 10 hours or so a week OUTSIDE of the classroom you should be fine. I'm in the alternative program too, and most of my classes have been online. It takes some serious will power to take the time to do everything but I learn much better this way. I also have a long commute so driving into Boston daily isn't my idea of fun.
