Bunch of Questions - New RN

Published

I was just curious about the following questions. Any and all help is appreciated! FYI I live in Michigan.

 How long does it take to post your licensure on the BON after your "unofficial results" from Vue.com/nclex?

 How long will it take until I get my actual license in the mail?

 How many Continuing Education Credits a year do I need?

 I need to renew my licensure through my state every year or every two years?

 Will there be a packet of information that comes in the mail with my licensure?

:redbeatheThanks!!!:heartbeat

It depends on your state.

For the BON/license questions, keep in mind that when you post the question here, you will get only anecdotal answers that may not be your experience. In fact, even with my own classmates, there was quite a range in timelines for each of these steps in the process.

You should google your state board of nursing and they will have most of these questions there. Every state is different.

I recently became licensed in Michigan.

-I got my "quick results" from Pearson on Friday and my license was up on Monday.

-My license came in the mail about two days after it was posted (no you do not get an info packet).

-I got my license June 20th, and the expiration date on it is 3/31/2012.

-I am not sure how many CEUs though. I can't remember off the top of my head but it should be on the BON website.
