Buffalo and Rochester, NY nurses

Specializes in psych, medical, drug rehab.

Hi, I know I am taking a chance here because I havent observed active participation on this site from the nurses in WNY, but I want and need to come "Home" and I need a j.o.b. when I arrive.;)

I am seeking 3 twelve hour shifts. Is this a reasonable thought and if so can you share with me what hospitals in Buffalo and /or Rochester have twelve hour shifts and in what areas of Nursing.

Thank you all so very much!:yeah:

Specializes in Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergy.

I'm also considering a move to Buffalo--anyone want to weigh in on the job market there?

Not sure about the Buffalo area..but in Rochester:

Highland, Strong and Rochester General offer 12 hour shifts. Unity (used to be Park Ridge) only offers 8 hour shifts. I'm a LPN that just finished RN school and did get two job offers, so there are still jobs out there. I don't think you find it hard to get a job a long as you aren't limited to certain areas. All of the above have websites that allow online applications. Good luck!

Oh, I almost forgot, my instructor did say the major hospital in Buffalo is hiring and they are 12 hour shifts.

Hi

Thank you for responding to this post. I know Kaleida in Buffalo is due to close a hospital next year and hence many per diem shifts have now entered the employment realm. This is because when they said they were going to close many FT staff jumped ship verses going to the end of the road.

I am going to go to their web sites (Highland, U of R, Rochester General and some of the ones in Buffalo)

Have my resume poised and ready to go.

Thanks again!
