Hey all, I'm new to the site and I'm actually not the one this question is for. My gf is wanting to become a nurse and it seems there are a lot of options out there. However she is looking for something rather unique that I can seem to find. She would like to start school in a program to get her BSN that doesn't require you to already be an RN. A second catch, she would like an online school that does the written/general online and the clinical stuff on campus/on-site. Is there anything out there like that?

The problem is that virtually all states require an ACCREDITED RN program to have a certain number of clinical hours, something that cannot and will not be obtained on line. This is in line with most medicine related professions.Unlike many degrees, nursing is a hands on profession, thus requires clinical.Would one license a surgeon that had never done an incision on a pt?The BON does not care about theories of different learning .... They care about insuring a basic skill level. And that necessitates clinical hours to assess performance of all the tasks required of this profession.
