BSN wanting to register with the NMC

Hi there

Would be very grateful if someone were able to help with the following:

I am British and have recently got engaged to an american nurse that undertook the accelerated nursing program at the university of pennsylvania to obtain her BSN. She has since been practising for three years and is looking to register with the NMC. Her hours appear to meet the requirement as laid out by the NMC. Has anyone else been in a similar position or is able to shed any light on whether she would be accepted?

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to reply,

John

Until the NMC review her application it is hard to say but most are accepted as long as their transcripts meet the hours set out by the NMC.

Thanks very much - great of you to take the time to reply.

Does anyone know of any instances in which someone has been selected where hours fulfil the criteria of training but calendar years may not?

Thanks again

John

Usually the criteria has to be similar to the UK style of training which is 3 years (just over) But really only the NMC can make their determination on her application and what the transcripts state.
