BSN right after ADN?

Hi all!

I am wondering if doing an RN to BSN program right after my ADN program would be a mistake or not. I would not be able to work at the same time which is what i worry about so I would just be doing the BSN program. I am only part time in nursing school now due to being home with my children, homeschooling etc. So I know that right now I couldn't do more than continue part time in school for my BSN. I am just thinking that since I have no health care experience I am going to have a difficult time finding a job so I am wondering if I should just keep going to school instead of "wasting" possibly a year or so job hunting. I know that many of you will want to say "work and do the BSN thing" But honestly that isn't in the cards. If I would have known what my life situation would be, I would have waited to go to school when my kids were eventually in school. But so it goes. Now I have to finish my program and hope to get a part time job that will fit into my life. good luck, I know ;-) So what would you do? BSN or job hunt? thanks in advance :-)

    I would try the job search first. School will always be there, but the job market can fluctuate at anytime. Getting that "one year" experience will go a lot further than your BSN with no experience. If you find yourself having difficulty getting a job than you can easily just switch over to an RN-BSN.

    With your schedule being what it is, I would also look into online RN-BSN programs as they tend to be a little more flexible and accomodating than traditional brick and mortar schools.
