Hi,

I have completed by BSN from India and worked as a Registered nurse for 1.5 years. I moved to USA to pursue Masters in Public Health Administration and will be graduating in July 2015. I am taking NCLEX-RN exam for New York state in April 2015.

I will be applying for OPT after I graduate.

I wanted to know what are my options to get H1B/H1C?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

H1c I believe isn't used anymore that I am aware of and H1b well that will depend on employer

I was going through the various threads and read H1B is only for specialized nurses who graduated with nurse practitioner degrees and have APRN certification. In my case I am worried I do not have work experience in US that would be ~500 hours and I wont be eligible for APRN since my degree is MPH.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

You are not eligible for APN with an MPH. You need a clinical MSN with specialized training as an APN. H1C was eliminated years ago and not renewed.

You may have difficulty with opt as it's very short term

Specializes in CTICU.

H1b is for specialized professionals, but there is no requirement to be an APRN.
