BSN graduate to LPN

Published

Hello. Can anybody have an idea if I am qualified to take or challenge the LPN exam without requiring to take the LPN course. I am a BSN graduate 2004 with 2006 and 2007 hospital experience as a Nurse. I took the RN exam unfortunately 2x, im waiting for my 3rd exam result. Hopefully I pass it. However, i have to think of any plan B just in case I need it. Thanks!

Check with your state Board. Many of them allow RN students who have completed at least half of their nursing program to take the NCLEX PN. And many foreign graduates with BSNs who can not pass the NCLEX RN are given the option to take the PN exam.

I'm wondering if the OP is Canadian. Three attempts at CRNE and you're finished. You have a BScN but cannot work as a nurse.

If that's the case, their education would have to be evaluated by the provincial CLPN to see if they were qualified to write the CPNRE.

We've had BScNs from the Phillipines be eligible only for CPNRE and some RNs from the UK have been evaluated at the PN level.

Traditionally, only graduates of a Practical Nursing education could write the exam.

'cause we all know the becoming an LPN isn't a consolation prize for failed RN students.
