I know that those programs exist. I do not think there are a lot of them, but I know of a couple. Arizona State University and the University of Minnesota both have BSN to DNP and offer psych as a specialty. I'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones I know of.

University of South Alabama has a Psychiatric (Family) BSN-DNP program. It's a three to four year program depending on what you choose. If you are graduating in April you have plenty of time to apply for Fall 2012. The application isn't too difficult but is a bit tedious.
I'm in semester 2 of 9 in the BSN-DNP Mental Health/Psych, and then I'll top that off by doing the clinicals for family practice. I'm a distance student at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN which did NOT require GRE's. It's difficult, as I miss the gestalt of group conversations, but hey, it's going pretty well.

I'm currently working on my BSN online through Jacksonville University's RN to BSN - awesome program, btw! I started in April and should be finishing by the end of of April of 2012.
I'm looking into what my next step is. I currently work for a psychiatric facility for clients with eating disorders. I've developed a passion for this population and I want to continue working in this field. Especially in our area, there are no psychiatrists for this population, and the facility I work for is the main provider for residential and partial hospitalization, as well as intensive outpatient and outpatient. I'm very proud to be a part of this team and I would like to continue as a nurse practitioner.
Is there anyone who has done a BSN to DNP program? What do you think of this? And are there any psych tracks? I have not found any tracked with psychiatric, but I have with adult and family NP and I think that would be a good option if psych isn't available.
Thank you in advanced!
