Hi, everybody!
My apologies if this topic was already discussed. Many moons ago I recommended my niece in Eastern Europe to get a nursing degree if she wanted to come to USA. Here we are, 6 years later, she is with BSN in nursing and 1 year of critical care experience, learning English. RN jobs in the USA became more limited. She is willing to come and stay with me as au pair for a year or two. She will pass NCLEX within this time frame. My spouse is a director of nursing and may pull some strings as necessary, but how realistic to switch to work visa while in the USA?
Thanks!

Realistically who knows how hard it will be. The job needs to be applicable for BSN and advertised as a BSN role to meet H1b requirements and in general nurses don't use them. Not saying impossible but hard as proof will be required to be give. Has she met state requirements because depending on state may result in difficulties as we see some states clamping down on requirements so wouldn't suggest she waits until in the US but if she can start applying now.
Thanks. She met requirements in my state.
I read somewhere that process could be much faster if the nurse already in the USA, is it true? Would it be faster to get greencard through employer if applicant already in the USA?
no it would not be faster if already in the US. It would make no difference where they lived the PD would be the same and the wait would be currently at over 6 years
