BSc Hons International Nursing... a degree in UK

the degree is alluring! BUT what makes it useless? Is this also offered at other universities in UK? is this recognized by Nursing and Midwifery council NCM in UK or in any other country such as USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand?

Anyone can shed light into this Concern, it will be greatly appreciated as it could be one factor why many nurses are enticed to apply in the program of ISA 4U and other consultancy firm.

Moved to the International forum

May or may not be accepted in other countries but generally only training transcripts are assessed

I've done a little google search to try to help answer your question.

Yes it is academically a degree in the UK, looking at the requirements for the degree you must already meet the NMC requirements for the ONP before you apply, which would make me wonder why you would do this course rather than the ONP in the first place.

It will not help you get NMC registration, in fact as already mentioned you would need to meet the requirements for NMC registration before applying for the course. I could only find one place that offered it, others such as Sheffield university no longer run it.

I am not sure what value it would be in other countries, it's an academic qualification but I assume you already have a nursing degree so what value would another degree offer you.

Thanks..

yes it isn't a pre-regisration course to NMC. That what makes it doubtful, since i still have to take the ONP course and meet the requirements such as the 1 year RN experience in my home country...

But if the degree is widely known across nursing institutions and hospitals in UK, US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, then it would really be worth it. But there are little infos regarding this degree. And i'm yet to ask our Clinical Advisors and Administrators in my Alma Mater regarding this degree.

It's not widely know across the UK, I work in the UK and to be honest I'd not really give this much consideration on a job application, I'd look at your nursing degree and years experience but a degree in international studies would have little benefit to me as an employer. I doubt the other countries would give it much more credibility than it being a degree which you already have through your nursing qualification.

For the UK you'd be better off getting experience and a speciality specific education

I am new to the site and have gone through most of the threads to find answers to my questions, to no avail. Nevertheless, I have found this site to be very useful resource for Nurses or others with similar interest.

Please I would like to know if UK pre -Registration Msc in Nursing, Adult Branch will be sufficient for US H1b Visa. Particularly where a first degree was in LLB Law Hons from UK University.

Many Thanks All.

I would like to ask if i will take the ONP while I'am holding a tier 4 visa, would it be possible for me to shift to tier 2 because as I've read the UKBA rules for tier 2, it is indicated that one will shift from tier 4 to tier 2 there should be a documentary evidence of completion of a course or study atleast one academic year duration. Is Overseas Nursing program be accepted?

ONP is not one year long and full time which is how I would interpret the rules but bests ones to ask I would say is immigration
