Brown Mackie College KANSAS CITY MO

Published

;)Hello, my name is Bethany and i am considering Brown Mackie's College its in Lenexa Kansas ( but their address is kc mo) anyways i was wondering if anyone has graduated from there and is now working as a RN??? Is the school accredited ? They tell me they are and that they have the oldest form of accredidation. BUT what is the accredidation i want??? i want to make sure that if i wanted to pursue getting my bachelor's that i would be able to transfer all of my Associates from brown mackie to whatever school i chose to obtain my bachelor's from. I am also concerned because the admissions advisor at brown mackie told me that i must have all high grades like ALL A's maybe a B but she highly recomended all A's because when clinical time comes around they only take the top 16 students in our class (our class meaning like 35 ppl) Those that dont make the top 16 must stay behind and take more classes until we become one of the top 16 ??? THAT, i find very odd and want to know if anyone has attended there so that they may explain it to me and tell me if its really that bad as it sounds or that i shouldnt be worrying at all!!!!!! Please , anything is helpful. Thanks -bethany

Here in Ohio, Brown Mackie only offers LPN certificates and NOTHING transfers,

There are websites that you can go to to see if your credits will transfer...cant remeber the name of any right now but if you do a google search on college credit transfers, you might find something.

A lot of people around here have gotten LPN degrees from B.M. and are now finding that to get an RN they have to start all over :banghead: ...Could happen with RN to BSN also...Good Luck

thanks alot Mickey! i will def look into it. ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO SAY ABOUT BROWN MACKIE???

Totally stay away from Brown Mackie! They make it sound fantastic to get you in the door, but after that you are on your own! Yes, you need to make ALL A's for their nursing program. Find another school to attend to get your education, you will be better off and save a lot of money!

Thanks for your advice. Did you attend there or knew someone who did ?? was it the one in kc mo?? TIA for replying
