OK, I am hearing horror stories of the BC nursing program at south campus. At this point....im willing to bite the bullet...im 31 years old and already have medical and life experience. Can't be worse than the jobs I've had for the last 10 years! Lol
Can anyone shed some light on their experiences? How is the math portion of the program? Are there any good math professors at the south campus for nursing? If so please provide some names. I am terrible at math
How are the classes? What makes the program so horrible as some students say? :/ if its just a matter of dedication and commitment... It can't be that bad right? But I'm hearing that the professors are terrible and do not actually teach the students and they fail their exams and have to drop the class.
Please anyone out there that can answer these questions....that would be great!
Thank you kindly!!
I say do your research on other programs because many hospitals in the south florida area want students with their BSN by 2016 but I understand everyones financial situation is different and going into a generic BSN program is more costly.
I am going for an MSN. I know my gift is in that field for sure but I so know how challenging that path will be.
Thank you for your input. It really upsets me that they don't prepare students for these questions and exams. It would be nice if they had an intro to nursing school or some self help book before students start the program so they have a guide or plan to achieve success.
I am on a tight budget and that's why I am going to BCC. If I could go elsewhere that would be great! :) but its expensive.
I completely understand. I was not prepared for that program but I learned from my mistakes. Since you are getting all this feedback start studying from before the program starts. Get the "Fundamental of Success" series books. It is very helpful for beginning nursing students. Good Luck. Wish you the Best :-)
I don't like to "ignore" anyone so let me speak from my personal experience back in Fall 2012. I am pretty sure the program has made some changes for the better. I attended south campus. I passed everything except nursing process 1. Nursing style questions are like no other. I believe that instead of guiding students on how to answer nursing style questions they just throw it at them. It is a very self taught program and I think it has a lot to do with how affordable the program is.
Agree! I even got the Dean involved at one point trying to get rationales. Nothing worked and I ended up crying for days for failing my last specialty by one point.
I'd say a protest would probably get the Dean's attention..especially if the news gets involved. I'm sure there are plenty of students that feel the way you felt. It just takes a group of people to get the attention of the media involved and turn heads. I feel that BCC needs to set up a success system for their students. I know its a hard path with plenty of new material....but this school has a bad reputation for letting their students down and making them feel like failures. I'd like to see a change in their system.
If anyone agrees to this...maybe we need a new post titled...."PROTEST @ BCC nursing program" Lol...seriously...we are the ones that have to suffer not the dean or professors.

Would be nice, but not many people are willing to stand up and at that time I was the only one.
