U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everyone!

This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! :D if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!

Hi guys

I was wondering if any of you could provide me with the syllabus for GI/GU. and Peds or just the chapters to cover. . I am trying to read ahead of time.

Thanks

Hello everyone,

I just have one question, I just checked my application status and is under pre-program application. any idea what 's that mean?

thanks,

Carmen

Dixon, forget about A&P. Start reading that Process 1 textbook word for word, page for page. You will not be tested on factual/biological information. The class really teaches you how to process information and think critically. That's one of the reasons why many students take the class over because they approach the exams like a history exam. Practice questions are the main reason why I haven't failed a class yet so invest in test books.

I was disappointed by the C's in this program as well. You are never safe from failing. I passed 1 GIGU test and 1 OB test yet I still passed both classes and I doubt I could have studied any harder. I'm trying to go to grad school and the C's do not look good on my transcript but the B's are definitely more attainable in the specialties, especially Psych. You do have to treat every test as though you need a high 90 to pass and the exams you think you did really well in are the ones you usually fail. #Lifeofanursingstudent

Thank you so much!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect in the first math test??? I know you're suppose to pass it with a 90 or something??

The math test is basically word problems and conversions and relatively easy unless you are terrible at math. If you fail it the first time you get another chance. My process 1 class had 134 students and all but maybe 2 passed. You are required to take the math class the first semester and you will see some of those practice questions on the 10 question final. A conversion sheet will be provided to you.

Oh ok thanks! I was worried that it was going to be giving right away! Lol So the test will be giving after a few weeks after the math class has started?

I've heard we're suppose to take the tabe someone's in one of these threads? I don't know if that is true or not, do you know by any chance?

The math exam is given after 4 weeks of the math class in process 1. Process 2 and beyond it is given the second day of class every semester. As for the tabe, I have not heard anything about it.

Thank you for the much needed info!

@ north campus we had to take a tabe test (just the reading portion) about 15 to 30 minutes after the first exam....I didn't like that at all.... In my opinion, they did that only to make it difficult to pass it....the test wasn't bad but a lot of students didn't get the score that's required (12 points)....I did....thank goodness....if you happen to get less than a 12, you would have to retake it before you are allowed to reenter the program (this is if you fail a class)

Just wondering if they make everyone take it? Do you know if people with AAs have to take it?
