Broward College May 2017

Published

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

Ahh okay, no I didn't get a message

what's the name of it so I can look for it?

no because its not letting me share it. I tried to send it as an attachment and I cant. I thought i sent you a PM. It may be a lot, but you may have to go back into the other forums from last year and try to find. Thats originally how i got. Sorry. I will try to see if I can find another way.

there was one for dosage calculations and they had the old perry potter 8th edition

i found it ! see if that works the first is the fundamentals and the second is dosage calculations

let me know if it worked!

Again summer semester is only 6 weeks so this could be different

regarding how to study for the boxes...personally i am a terrible note taker (which i need to improve) i read the boxes until i got a full understanding, however, if writing things down help you by all means do it! Never let anyone tell you that asking others how they study is stupid. ask a lot of questions!!! ask those who are scoring high...sometimes they may know of study tips that you never thought of and come to find out they may work for you. in this program you cannot be closed minded; instead be the opposite.

and yes, that video on youtube you will need to know (at least for central). which is why i said if you are familiar with the cranial nerves even if its just knowing them and how to test for them you'll be ahead of the game. physical assessment will take up about 15-20 minutes out of the 45 mins you get of your return demo. other skills are involved, but those you will learn in lab and aren't so difficult. start thinking patient safety! at least three side rails up for the bed and at lowest position before you leave the room and hand hygiene....drill that in your brain.

chapters in process I (please keep in mind i have no idea what summer is like so consider that before following any of my suggestions)

activity and exercise

patient safety

infection control

hygiene

vital signs

specimen collection

physical assessment

communication

critical thinking

the nursing process (nursing process in the Perry book 9th ed are chps 16-20)

self concept

sexuality

spiritual health

documentation and informatics

cultural awareness

sleep

sensory alterations

nursing today

healthcare delivery system

health and wellness

the experience of loss, death and grief

ethics and values

legal implications

No calculators at any campus... sorry :( this was a new rule this semester. When we started they said yes and then 2 weeks before the exam they said no. since the students at central are not allowed it wasn't fair that at north campus we could.

i think some teachers allow it and some dont

I can't believe the deadline is almost here. I can't wait! :nailbiting: I think once Nicole starts commenting on this thread it'll become even more exciting lol. I HOPEEE we find out sooner than later.

Thank you guys so much!!! Y'all are the best!
