Broward College May 2016 RN program

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

Insurance SHOULD cover vaccines. Not sure about the titer but vaccinations should be covered. I got the tetorifice booster & did not have to pay. I have Coventry health insurance but I think majority if not all insurances cover immunizations.

Freaking out because schedule for central now has the professor posted for Process 1 & clinical... HARRIS SMITH ... I've heard horror stories about her :( can anyone give any advice if you've taken her??

have you checked ratemyprofessor ? normally pretty goos indicator how they are.

just one more shot to get, schedule with my pcp to finish up the exam, and hopefully ill have my paperwork in by the end of this week.

^^ Same here. Waiting on my ppd results. Should come in today. I have my CPR good until November so Im gonna turn all of my paperwork in tomorrow and renew my CPR sometime in the Fall. I was really wanting to get in to Central Campus and a spot opened up yesterday morning! But both of the classes were for --------------------------- and I've heard horror stories about her LOL. My North campus sched is --------------- for Process 1 &2 and ----------------- for both the labs. I've heard good things about both of these profs so I'm gonna stick with North! ?

yes, I have --------------- for both theory I and II, and ------------- for clinical I. my clinical II professor hasn't been assigned yet.

I went to my Doctor and i just realized that he did the titers for everything except Hepatitis B. I received vaccinations for Hep B in 2004, but Hep B is the only section on the physical that asks if you want to sign to not take the titer. I was just wondering if by signing this would I still be able to do clinicals at the hospitals? My Doctor is on the other side of the state so I didn't want to make an unnecessary trip if I could avoid it.

i would call and ask about that, because i remember one of yhe deans saying we could decline it but no guarantee clinical sites would let us in

Do we submit the receipt for the fingerprinting and the confirmation of payment for the online background check? I've received my results for the online check, do I submit this? And then my CPR card, I submit a copy and keep the original? Just want to do everything right the first time! Congrats and good luck to everyone!

Yes you submit the confirmation for the online background check and the receipt they gave you at the fingerprinting place. Give a copy of your CPR card. You keep the original.

-------------- says you can't decline hep b and the flu vaccine but I checked with one of the ladies in bldg 8 on central campus. I was told you can decline hep b, you just sign and date. She asked ----------------------- the associate dean of nursing. Flu vaccine isn't needed right now because it's out of season.

Does anyone know when financial aid kicks in?
