Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.
My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.
My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0
To all the alternates:
Keep the faith. Life happens. Someone one who took in their application in December 2015 may not be in the same financial situation now. They may not be able to afford the program and will give up their seat. Or maybe a family member is sick and they are their care taker. Then theres the people who just realized nursing is not for them. There's a million and one reasons why someone will forfeit their seat. I always say "Where there's a will there's a way". So stay strong!

Does anyone know what the HSC requirements are? It's in the email.
They are certificate courses we have to take.
offers them for like $25-30, but there is one that i think we have to take at BC. From past threads, BC accepts ceufast certificates.
They are only good for 2 yrs, so I don't think wre should start them yet.
280 applicants applied...200 were accepted ranging GPAs from 3.0-4.0...if you scored less than 6 points you were chosen as an alternate there are only 25 alternates
wow it's about time the raised the GPA people getting people 3.0 are really waiting there money because they mostly drop. No offence but they need to bring in higher GPA applicants to be able to do this program.
When they let people in with January I know they accept people with 2.5s

I think it just depends on the person because a person with a gpa of 4.0 can be book smart but then when it comes to clinicals they fail. So I dont think a low or high gpa matters . Its the person and determination and drive and dedication.
Not really. Because one person has 4.0 and the other has 2.5 does not mean the 4.0 is smatter than the 2.5. Don't look at it like that. If you think that way, it can make you feel uncomfortable when you r around those students. My wife was selected this afternoon with 3.6 gpa and 80% on the HESI. She did it with her force. She never cheat. There are a lot of students who cheat themself out to get 4.o gpa. You can look at it that way too. Because you good in testing does not mean you good in practice. You see i will never judge someone due to his or her gpa. We need to sturdy and walk the journey without look it at the gpa.

To be honest I'm surprised you lasted this long with your perception on others. That's very rude. You have know clue what people go through or are going through for them to have that type of GPA. For example me: I started off in school with a 3.83 until 2 years ago. I was taking anatomy and the lab. I found out my daughter had cystic fibrosis and it destroyed my entire world. I ending up not performing to the best of my abilities and by the grace of God my teachers understood what I was going through and gave me a passing grade of a B/C. I'm airing this out there because I was one of those people that has a 2.5 and that strived to be the best that I can when dealing with all of the trials and tribulations that I had to go through. So just because you have a certain distaste in your mouth for those lower GPA people you should look at what others have to do to maintain the higher ones. Because to my understanding not all people that have the high GPAs last to the end as the lower GPAs. No offense to anyone that has made it. I truly am happy for all of you.
