hey so does anyone know if these are all important....

i'm so confused because everyone keeps saying there's only certain ones we need and we don't...but would they give us those then say recommended for some? to me that means we need them all or they would also be recommended...? help. =)

all that information i got from previous posts. also, they did recommend fundamental success and test success. the nursing lab supply kit we won't need until the second 8 weeks. for north they said you dont have to buy the pharmacology book because everything is straight from his notes but it would be a good idea to get the lilley study guide. hope this helps a little.

I am in. I called the central campus and they said they accept ceus from ceufast.com. Thanx

I don't suppose you found out the CEU course names from ceufast that translate into the ones Broward needs? I know there's an issue with the TB/OSHA/HEP one, but that there's supposedly one that Broward will take from CEUFAST for it.

Does N E one know if we can take the ceu courses online thru BC even if start date is 08/10/10 thru 12/18/10? Or could we take them online at ceufast? Any suggestions would help. I need to have them completed by Dec. 1.

I had a hard time registering for both labs and could not get through to ANYONE!! Of course.. after the panic attack passed I searched for the classes on all of the campuses instead of just north and found the ref #'s they gave us even though they weren't working when I punched them in. It took me almost an hour... crazy stress... and that's just registering... this is going to be rough lol.

This is for ceufast..

TB 2 hrs

Infection control and barrier precautions 4 hrs

Hep C 2 hrs

Aids/HIV 4 hrs

Medical Errors 2 hrs

Dom violence 2 hrs

Take Infection Control and Barrrier Precautions in place of OSHA and Hep C for Hepatitis.

exactly! the infection control and barrier precautions (4 hrs) plus tb(2 hrs) = 6hrs. it is much cheaper thru ceufast than bc (if u do it online). the cost for the ceus for bc online is about $65 compared to ceufast $30 for a year with unlimited ceus. i will be going thru ceufast to get the hrs.

yes it was stressful . can i just say one word: disorganized :lol2:. are you doing the online or face to face program?

i started a new thread as well for rn online program:

bc online rn program jan 2011

i think each campus should create a thread to support one another in their group. we could all still use this current thread to still communicate with one another and swap ideas or share info;this just a thought. but lets continue to encourage one another no matter what!

Thank you SO much!! You did this and it was accepted for you? Do you mind telling me who told you that these were the ceu's on ceufast to take? It's not that I don't believe you- I just want to make sure because we've all come so far and Broward has so many....ways in which they are disorganized, telling one person one thing, and another something completely different. :) BTW, I know you've almost suredly said this in a post, but what campus are you attending? I'm going to be going to Central.

Also- does anyone know of a BLS for the Healthcare Provider that we can take that is coming up soon? One NOT through Broward, one that ISN'T eight hours long. (BTW, in case this helps, I live right across from Central campus, so the Davie/Plantation area).

I think the welcome e-mail from Central said that the CEU's, BLS card, drug screen, physical, background check- were all due Dec 1.... so I need a class SOON! Eeek!!!!!!

This may be a dumb question but...what does a physical entail??? And what shots/immunizations would someone get if they got all of them? (I got this one shot as a young teen, maybe even eleven or twelve, and it was one where it was on my lower arm on the inside and it bubbled up, and I don't remember what it was called, TB ? maybe? And I HATED it and am so afraid of getting that one done this time, because last time it made me see metallic colors and get nauseous and damn near pass out. Something deep within tells me this is indeed one of the shots we'll have to get. At least I'm much older now, so it shouldn't be as bad.)

Will we really need a blood test for immunizations if we're positive we need all of whatever they could give us? I haven't had ANYTHING (not even a simple flu shot!) since I was at the pediatrician's office.

Planning on just going to an Urgent Care (there's a really good one that is NEVER BUSY, literally every time I've been there I have been the only one there) on University and Griffin in the Publix shopping center by Starbucks and Publix called Baptist Urgent Care or something along those lines. (I have Medicaid, so I think they'll cover my physical.)

When you go could you list the prices you paid without insurance. Thanks =)

I saw it in an earlier post somewhere on here from sunraygirl. She currently attends North Campus and I'll be going to North Campus too. But I did mine on ceufast already.
