Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

U.S.A. Florida

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

I am going to try and have a good day, but it is really interesting how the anxiety increases exponentially everyday. Just when you think you can't get any more wound up, the stress jumps up another notch. :sorry:

Oh well, take a deep breath and carry on I suppose. Have a great V-day guys!

Christopher,

Does this help your anxiety? If not, I can do nothing else...my gift to you on Valentines Day

My pleasure...have a good day :)

Apparently they weren't really kidding when they said we'd know on the 15th. What's ping to happen if they don't tell us tomorrow?

Simple.

The :poop: will hit the fan.

?Just spoke with Health Science admission at North.... "I don't think that they should have an answer by tomorrow. They are still working on it. They are almost done. Maybe next week".This is outrageous... Even the nursing program site says that we should know 3 weeks after the closing deadline.... OMG...this is such a mess... Other universities inform you within 2 weeks after final interview....????

I normally have an excess of Southern-Belle-of-a-Mama induced manners and politeness , but even I will have a hard time not going absolutely bat-crap if we don't get an answer by their self-appointed time.

Though part of being a health professional will involve tons of grace under fire, meh, guess we better start practicing that skill now.

Yeah, but also part of being any professional is adherence to deadlines. I'm sure we'll know by tomorrow.

I talked to someone today who said we would know tomorrow by 4PM. According to my source, they are allowing more time for applicants to submit their waiver for HCP001!! How about this policy: If your application is incomplete by the application due date, you get your crap together and turn it on by the next due date. If someone wants to go to BC, they will get their stuff together on time or they will apply again. Otherwise, there are plenty of applicants to choose from and make up a class, according to them. The good news is that all 3 campuses will have a summer cohort. They will accept approx 150 students. She thought the applicant pool was between 500-700. So, why would they wait for an incomplete application? There must be well over 150 applications turned in complete by the due date.

Even better, stop requiring HCP0001. Nobody else does.
