I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
I talked to someone today who said we would know tomorrow by 4PM. According to my source, they are allowing more time for applicants to submit their waiver for HCP001!! How about this policy: If your application is incomplete by the application due date, you get your crap together and turn it on by the next due date. If someone wants to go to BC, they will get their stuff together on time or they will apply again. Otherwise, there are plenty of applicants to choose from and make up a class, according to them. The good news is that all 3 campuses will have a summer cohort. They will accept approx 150 students. She thought the applicant pool was between 500-700. So, why would they wait for an incomplete application? There must be well over 150 applications turned in complete by the due date.
I am so glad I didn't check the boards and see this last night, or I would have been up all night gnawing my nails off. Thanks for the information, and I TOTALLY agree with you about the deadlines, why even have them if you aren't going to hold people to them?
I took my HCP class at Sheridan last fall then I went and waited at the registrar's office on 1/14 and waited for 3 hours just so I could get my HCP certificate put in my hot little hand. Then I walked the certificate into BC with my application on 1/15, which just so happens to be the deadline. There is absolutely no reason (in my opinion) why they shouldn't fill the spots with the students who had theirs in on time first, barring any glaring defincincies like missing pre-reqs of course. Then if there are spots left over they can start filling them with late folks.
This is for stalker of future classesIt is now 10:10am and still no news
We are mentally exhausted !! We want to get off this roller coster ride!! ( but then we are afraid we will have to go to the end of the line, or not come back to the park )
I'm with you. Since about 9:30 I have been getting literally nauseated with nerves when I think about not getting in.

Do they accept 150 students per campus or total?
