Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)
Can you tell me how you calculated the gpa including the lab. I am not sure why it posted my grades so closed together but to make sure my grades are a&p1B lab B, a&p2 B lab C, enc 1101 C, chem B lab A. I did not take HOSA in school only a Broward county resident. I submitted my application today and it says I have 3 points. I don't understand how that was calculated.

Base on your grade your nursing prerequisite gpa (excluding Chem Lab) is 2.7. Without HOSA (with HOSA additional 5pts)the maximum points for your nursing prerequisites is 16pt plus 1 points for being a broward resident which would be 17 points. That is :
4.0=16pts + 1pts broward resident= 17 pts
3.9=15pts
3.8=14pts
3.7=13pts
3.6=12pts
3.5=11
3.4=10
3.3=09
3.2=08
3.1=07
3.0=06
2.9=05
2.8=04
2.7=03
Then you can had the additional 1 point for broward resident if you are. Which would give you 4pts
You can use this website to calculate your GPA

They do not count chemistry lab as a part of the nursing prerequisite, so they will not add that in the calculation
