Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)
I've been using this website: Hesi flashcard sets and study tools | Quizlet It's been very helpful. Hope it helps

Congrats on your acceptance, I take my Hesi this monday for the August term, I was wondering what score would give me a perfect chance at getting in?? I am not a broward resident and my HS didn't have HOSA, so where does that leave me and I am also applying to MDC, I will go where I get accepted I am not picky? also a question regarding the Hesi, do they give you the conversion on the exam like the metric sys. and what not
thank you,
Again Congrats
Steph
Hi! Good luck on your upcoming Hesi exam! I personally got an 89 overall on my Hesi. I got into the nursing program with 6 PTs! I did have the Broward resident pt but no Hosa for me either, so have some faith! ...as for the conversions on the exam I don't recall them giving it to you but maybe I'm mistaken. I took it about a year or so ago so I kind of forgot. I know that they give you a calculator on the screen..Congrats on your acceptance, I take my Hesi this monday for the August term, I was wondering what score would give me a perfect chance at getting in?? Good luck on the test!!
So for anyone that haven't taken the HESI as yet, and looking to do it at BC central campus, you will have to register and pay in advance. I won't be able to take mines this Tuesday as I planned, but will be doing it on May 8th instead. There are no more openings until that week, the other times are all booked. On a positive note I will have more time to study :D
Soo I took the HESI today and got a 91 overall 98 in reading, 94 in grammar, 76 in vocab, 100 in A&P, and 86 in math. The reading and grammar were the easiest parts, pretty much common sense. The math was straight from the study guide (LOTS of fractions!! and lots of percentages, ratios, conversions) I also had a few questions on military time. The vocabulary was tricky but it was mostly from the book mixed with some medical terms. Anatomy was only 30 questions and they majority was on glands and hormones. I've heard that they ask a lot of questions on hormones so I made sure I memorized all of the functions and it helped me a lot. The other questions I remember were about the menstrual cycle, locations of bones, and parts of the cell. I hope this helps
Good luck everybody!

Thank you so much! I will definitely let you know how it goes. Oh and in response to your other post, we're not required to take the physics part of the HESI. Just A&P, math, grammar, vocabulary & reading.
