Broward College August 2010

Published

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

ps- she said, "don't worry...it won't take long...there aren't that many applications yet."

how about for the students whoe deffered does anyone know when we will be hearing from them. i emailed the dept 2 weeks ago and nothing yet

also does anyone have a financial breakdown per semester of how much the program comes out too especifically. it says that the program is 6000. but i have a hard time believing that

I stopped by the health science admissions office about an hour ago the lady there told me that there was no one in the office today because the lady that processed applications was on jury duty. She also stated that the lady that used to work with her retired, but that there aren't many applications to process, and we should hear something by friday. :)

eeek! I hope so! I am going to be checking like crazy until I hear something! Which campus were you at?

I went to the central campus.

First semester cost about 1300ish, which included pharm and math. So the other semesters will be less, plus the first summer you only take 1 nursing class/clinical, so it will be half of what the other semesters are. Don't buy books in the bookstore. You can save a TON of money by buying them online.

I remembered I felt the same way you feel now 3 years ago, so nothing changed, save your energy for when you start the program because this program is no joke very hard , the first semester we started at 86 only 42 people remained at the end of the semester and only 25 graduate . The only good advice I can give to all of you is try to survive the first semester it is the hardest one, no party, no clubbing, no working ,no time for friends, the library is your new residence, spend time there to study, don't stay home , don't go to friends's houses, don't have a group study of more than 3 people, it is a sacrifice but it worth it now I can do whaterver I want , I am free like a bird , I work 3 days a week, I have time for my family, my friends and I can go on vacation whenever I want. I just spent 3 days in Orlando got back last night, It really pays off at the end . I wish the best of luck to all of you!

i have a question... has nothing to do with what you guys are talking about, but you know how they say the program is 5 semesters long but each nursing class is like 8 weeks long and then you take another one the next 8 weeks. does each 8 weeks count as one semester, or is it still the entire four months that are equal to one semester? thnks

Fall and Winter semesters are 16 weeks long. Each nursing class, like you said, is 8 weeks, so there are 2 nursing classes per semester. Summer is normally 12 weeks, so summer classes would be 6 weeks each. There are 9 nursing courses total.......so 2 each semester comes to 4 full semesters and one half semester (you have off for one half of your first summer semester).

ahhh okay... thanks for clearing that up for me sunray :)

I went by central's health science admissions office yesterday and the lady told me the reason why they change the hesi was b/c they didn't have enough apps to fill up all their seats. So basiclly everyone who applied by May 15th will be accepted and the remainder of the seats will be left to the second batch of apps!!!! Don't quote me on that it could change but thats how its looking!!!!
