Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Sweet ! I am going to south campus. can you tell me did you rent any books ?? Or did you buy them all. I want to rent the mtb class book the dosage calculations? What's your input .

I bought most on amazon used really cheap. The dose book is like 5.99 on amazon now so it's worth buying at that price. I wouldn't buy that for full price. ..too expensive. It's helpful but you use it for 4 weeks. The potter book is useful to have so you can write in it and you need the matching clinical book almost everyday. ..I wouldn't buy the strategies book, you don't need all those extra books. Just wait and see and buy them as you need them. I like the Davis questions ..those helped me a lot. Jarvis and drug book-you're going to want to buy. You must have those. And there is an orange book that is lab tests that you need the most current edition.

But don't overlook used. You can get some of these books for $5-6 and many don't have highlighting. And prime has free 2 day shipping! But...if you need to rent them, then rent them. I heard of others renting and they did fine. I like writing in my books do I don't rent but it's fine. They also have all the books in the library to use. You can't remove them but you can sit there and study.

Yea makes sense thanks but I was going to do it used if I can but one thing all the books that are cheap are the old edition . For example the dosage calculations for 5.99 is 3rd edition and the one class is asking for is the 4th edition . You think we can get the earlier edition and still do great in our class ??? I'm sure it's about the same. Mine is 3rd. You just do review questions from that book. ..so in class you can always look at your neighbors book if you need the exact numbers.

The drug tests only take 48 hours. At orientation I swear I heard 2 weeks lol. Had me stressing. But the paper is a skinny long small slip.

Hey you all! On ceufast domestic violence is 3 hours but for BC its 2 hours. Can we still do it for 3 hours instead of 2? Just an extra hour lol

Just saw that today as well..I would guess it wouldn't be a problem if it is over the amount of hours needed..if it was under I would suspect it would be an issue? :up:

I am going to do it anyways..just completed the HIV AIDS on CEUFAST..yikes that was a long test. lol!

Did anyone get the email about the flu shot in south campus? do we have to get it at south campus with the nurse from walgreens or can we go anywhere?

because on ceufast its only 5 credits and broward needs at least 6 credits. I'm going to north and I went to turn in the packet today but they said that weren't accepting the packets until the earliest July 28th. I'll see you all at the meeting.

I got the same email . I have no idea I guess you can do it any where. I wonder when the season is open is open later than august 3rd? Maybe its trying to get the flu shot before season opens ?
