Just questioning how to flush a broviac catheter. I know that it's an indwelling catheter, are there lumens that extend outside of the body? What's the normal amt to flush with, and what type soltn.? Help/info greatly appreciated.
It looks very similar to a Hickman catheter. You need to follow your facility's policy as to how they want it flushed. You will find variances between institutions.
