Brookline College - AZ accelerated

Published

Hey There! So Ive been looking into Brookline accelerated BSN programs. I have a few concerns. Are there any current students or alumni that can help me out? or even if you have heard anything about the school/programs...

I see that the programs is accredited. But I also see NCLEX pass rates are lower than other schools, and I keep reading that its hard to Get a job if this is where you earned your BSN - that was from old threads though... so hoping that has changed. And I know its expensive but I have a BS already and want to get started asap.

Any info helps! thanks!

I'm also interested in this information!!

I go here. Probation was extended until this August. My last semester starts August 24th. I might be SOL. I’m worried. Hope this helps.

I attended the ABSN program from 2016 - 2017. I moved back home to Philly, passed the NCLEX in 75 questions and definitely felt more prepared than my peers. I was offered a job right after passing the NCLEX at a prestigious health system in Philly for their new grad program as 1 out of 8 people - over 100 had applied. I feel as though the instructors are great and very helpful. I had a great experience

I graduate in august from brookline! its been an alright experience, very disorganized at first. But we are getting everything done and there are some really great professors. National accreditation does not hurt anyone from getting a job, they are CCNE accredited! they are on probation but things seem to be getting better. I know it takes several steps to get a program off probation and if you started at a certain time before that you are in the clear, from what I'm told anyway! the clinicals have been great. its a means to and end and cant wait to be done!

How did you to this if Pennsylvania is not part of the compact agreement? Can you explain the steps you took to do this?

Thanks for the response. I hope the school succeeds. If the school loses accreditation or closes in June, we have to start over because these credits don't transfer. We are worse off if we graduate in August than the people who just started because we are in the same boat as they are except we have invested more time and money. I am almost at the finish line, and I am hoping that the school stays open in time for us to graduate.

After I graduated, I applied to take the NCLEX in Pennsylvania instead of Arizona. Arizona is a compact state, correct. But just because I completed the schooling in AZ, doesn’t mean I have to test in AZ.

Can you explain the process? I have to take more classes to take the NCLEX in Nevada. Can you elaborate?

I didn’t have to take anymore classes to test in PA. The NCLEX is a national test so all accredited nursing programs in the US, in theory, should meet the standards. But if Nevada is different, I would just check with Nevada’s Board of Nursing on what you need and find out how to go about completing that. When you are in Capstone, they get you ready to send info into the state for NCLEX testing. Instead of AZ, I had them send my info to PA when I applied and registered to test. I also hold a license in NJ. I had no issues with completing my BSN in AZ and obtaining RN license on the east coast.

If the program closes a week before you graduate your sol. Not even The cool sounds of Maroon 5 will make you feel better. Ask Brightwood students. I wonder where this disinformation comes from. It’s absurd. Anyways, good luck. I just need the license. My previous bachelor’s degree will get me into a masters program in a state school.
