Hey! Is there anyone attending Brookline College (in Phoenix, AZ) new accelerated bachelor's degree program. I plan to start it May 9th and would like to know anyone's opinion on the school?
Yes, I left an unaccredited program (a lot of falsehoods there) and a program that was impossible, and I remember this program was recommended when I was doing phlebotomy a couple years ago, don't know why I didn't go here first, oh well, I think I was worried about pre-reqs, so I finished all of them except for 2 that I need to take for the BSN and move to the core nursing classes. I got my classes I'll be taking a couple weeks ago I just don't have times/days - I got my acceptance letter with all the clinical documents last week. I just want to start, I'm not used to not being in classes, feel like I'm wasting time! LOL Probably won't feel that way next month
Hello everyone!
I've read through this entire discussion and I have read some contradictory things about the school. I already have a bachelors degree and would be completing brooklines accelerated program. However, my end goal is to become an FNP and I dont want to waste my time with a school that doesnt transfer to a graduate program. Have any graduates of this school gone on to become NP's? If so which graduate school did you attend? I spoke to an admissions adviser and she was very unclear. I want to pull the trigger on the school but I need to be sure about this first.

I am still a student at Brookline, but perhaps I can help you a little. Brookline has national accreditation, not regional. What that means is that for graduate school you would need a school that does not require regional accreditation. This might be why the advisor was unclear. For example, I am attending in Phoenix, so I would not be able to go to grad school at ASU. But I have looked at schools in other states and would be able to attend there, meaning I would have to move.

Thank you so much for commenting. After I posted this question I contacted several graduate programs in Arizona and so far GCU has confirmed with me that they would accept the credits and degree from Brookline pending all other requirements are met. I'm still waiting to hear back from University of Phoenix. UoP's site says they accept certain nationally accredited schools but not all. The adviser I spoke to stated that they accept students on a case by case basis.
I know there is a clinical aspect of the FNP degree but aren't most programs online? Have you looked at our of state masters programs? If so which ones? I mostly just wanted to make sure I could continue my education after Brookline and not need to repeat a bunch of classes at a different school.
Can anyone confirm that GCU accepts Brookline's credits and degree with no additional course work to be repeated?
Run far run fast. I graduated from the BSN program last December. I only attended the school because I had no choice. I had just lost my job nd couldn't afford to be put on a waiting list. Some aspects of the program were okay but by and large the program was subpar. If I had the time I would have waited for a public university or community college spot.
Yes, I was and I know of many of my classmates that have jobs. I had 4 different deans of nursing during my time there. Leadership is constantly changing things. Professor quality is hit and miss. I took a patho class there and they fired the professor 2/3 of the way thru the semester because of all the complaints. He wasn't teaching the class according to the syllabus and would give open book/laptop tests to boost the classes grades. People still failed. He took his test questions straight from quizlet. My OB professor on the first day of class didn't know how to work the projector and admitted to the class she wasn't even using her slides (she did not even take the time to look at them before she presented to the class). So many people were failing towards the end that the students started a petition to present to the dean, detailing the many shortcomings of the class. Many of the professors there are overworked (it's a small business so they don't want to hire more people to pay) and this leads to a very poor quality of lectures and exams. All I'm saying is if I had it to do over agin I would go to a school where the method of instruction has been tried and true and things aren't in a constant state of change. Not to mention Brookline is only nationally accredited and not regionally accredited which vastly reduces the number of graduate schools that you can attend.
