Brookhaven or El Centro??

U.S.A. Texas

I am currently taking a few Preq courses towards an ADN. I'm not sure which program I should shoot for first...Brookhaven or El Centro. Of course I want to apply for the one that would accept more students that would better my chances. I did notice a couple of classes Brookhaven requires in their program, that El Centro doesn't...but I thought they are important. Pharmacology, and Dosage Calculation. Could anyone provide me with feedback on their experiences at either school? Thanks

I'm going to Brookhaven right now and hoping to get into the program in the spring. And I have also done a semester at El Centro for micro, a&pII, and pharmacology.

I've heard El Centro is a bit more competitive... But who really knows? And from what I have experienced, el centro has their act together a lot more than brookhaven does. I get people at brookhaven telling me different things all the time. Very unorganized.

However, I'm still going there so it's not THAT bad. :wink2:

I did enjoy going downtown a few times a week though. A lot of people may not like that. People tried to sell me pot every now and then. :p

I've been working toward getting into ElCentro/Northlake and am waiting for my acceptance letter - going out 10/15 - 1 week from today!:yeah:

I've also been looking at Brookhaven/Mountain View as a plan B...

Both programs have their pluses.

El Centro/Northlake entrance is based solely on your GPA for the 5 prereqs.

Brookhaven/MV is on a points system and while your gpa does count, the biggest points given are for you HESI score. Also Brookhaven has the extra classes - dosages, pharm, patho, etc in prereq and count toward your points to get in, but once you're in, you only go full time for 16 monts v. 24 months at ElC/NL.
