Brookhaven College Nursing Program Fall 2014

Hi everyone, I haven't seen any thread about BHC Fall '14 so I made one! I am applying this February at Brookhaven community college for Fall 2014. I took Hesi last year for trial and I will be taking the Hesi for real again this February and I have been studying really hard this Winter break! Goodluck everyone, if I do not get accepted I have plan B which to go ahead and try to apply in UTA.

Almost finished in all precourses needed just Micro and death dying this Spring but they are not counted this application so I am hoping to do well in Hesi!

Hi anthowest14! I took the HESI and Dosage Calc. The Dosage Calc took a lot longer than I thought. I thought it would just be a few hours and I could get it done over the weekend but it was more consuming than that. HESI was easier than I thought but then again I really studied a lot too. Did you take these yet?

I too had the same situation. I took all the components of HESI but not the critical thinking. BHC allowed for just taking the critical thinking for $20. I turned in my papers last week. I had the nice lady at the Health Science center review papers to make sure I had everything I needed and she gave a receipt summarizing everything I submitted. I'm at 30 points.

Did you end up buying the book that they recommend for the dosage calc?

do y'all know if we are currently taking a course does that count towards our points? Also, anyone else care to share their points??

Spoke to an advisor today and anything you are taking at the moment when applying will not count for points on your application. Once fully completed it will count.

Do you really have to take all the support courses before you apply?

It's recommended so you can have the most points.

Taking the Hesi tomorrow. If I make an A I will have enough points I think to make the program. First time taking Hesi - any pointers???

Goodluck to you! I used the evolve book and other hesi a2 books, difficult part for me though is the English because I am from another country.

Got my application turned in yesterday for the fall entrance. Now the waiting begins! Anyone else out there applying???

I just applied on Monday! I have 27.23 points. Not as much as I hoped, but I am also missing a few courses. I realize it's a long shot but I'm trying anyway. Good luck with your application!

Wow! y'all have really good points! I am applying for the fall 2014 too. My point isn't anywhere near y'all but I have completed all my pre requisites and support courses. I got enough points apply, so I am applying. Good Luck to of you!
