Brookdale is in it for the $$$$ and nothing more, IMO. They pay their management well, but their "associates" get crap wages and they will admit anyone that crawls through the door, regardless of whether the staff are able to care for him/her properly. Personally, I wouldn't choose to work for them again if they were the last senior-living corporation on earth, but that's just me. Good luck........you are going to need it.
Im already having regrets for accepting the job. I found out today Im the 8th nurse they have hired recently because all the rest have quit due to the 24hr on call status, huge amount of paperwork, and Im just finding out I have NO pt care. I cant even give shots, but they do have a large supply of band aids Im allowed to use. BOOOOOOOO I didnt become a nurse to push paper

That turnover rate should tell you something.
In your place, I would very politely and respectfully decline the job offer and RUN!!!

just wondering what experiences some of yall have had with Brookdale. I just accepted a job with them but having trouble finding any unbias, of course their website is all wonderful, reviews about working for them. Also as a new LVN who does plan on going on to RN what are some good certs to get right now. My top 2 are IV Cert and ACLS, any others I should consider?
