I recently lost reason to live so please hear me out.
I graduated from Nursing school in Dec 2011 and I submitted my application to sit for the board. Before I tell you the rest,
I was convicted with a DUI in 2008, completed my 3 year probation and all terms by the court's condition.
Along with my NCLEX Application, I have disclosed my misdeaminor information down to certified copy of my arrest report to the
Board.
On 05/16/2012, I finally got the reply back from BRN Enforcement, and they have denied me.
They say I have sixty days to file an appeal for a hearing or Go into agreement with district attorney to become probationary
licensed nurse.
Both of them are not guranteed btw, nor any information is available how to do it.
Or they say I can wait a whole year and try reapplying.
I don't know if you know... but It is mission impossible to get hired as a new grad RN, but if you're Probationary New Grad RN,
0% chance.
I've called to get some answers as to why? and they won't even return my calls and they play tossing game with my phone
calls.
I am 30 now, torn apart into 100pcs, I feel like I have been raped and robbed of my 4 years I put into nursing.
The night of my DUI is when I found out my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer (In another country),
and when he passed away in 2009, I missed chance to see his last few days over a nursing prerequisites final exam.
Those nightmares have taught me to be sober and nursing education has taught me more then I can say about doing another
DUI.
I had attended BRN approved School, and when entering, they did my background check by DOJ and right
before graduation, we have to do another DOJ background check. I was still cleared by BRN approved school to prepare me to
take the NCLEX.
I have studied for four years to find out, I am not eligible for what I have studied to become. If they were going to deny people
in the end, why not tell us from the begining, they govern nursing programs, why not set this most important information.
It drives me even more crazy knowing that there are so many like me already, and soon to find out future applicant.
There are agencies who take people like me and collect $1500 to write an appeal letter to become Probationary nurse. But never
guranteed.
I am broke because I spend my entire saving plus my mom's retire funds to support my Nursing School.
I have no reason to live.... do you agree?
